I got straight A's in school this six weeks, for the first time since I started high school. Last six weeks I had three B's, so I'm glad I could kick those up. I'm proudest of my 90 in geometry; I've never ever been able to understand math, and it has shown, so this is a great improvement!
I've been in the Youth Choir in our Stake, and we performed today in Stake Conference. It was very fun. I played two of the hymns on the piano and sang alto for the rest. My favorite song that we sang was the EFY Medley. It was so beautiful. A HUGE thank you to Sister Schmidt for putting all that together!
I'm struggling with my piano piece for school. It is so hard! I don't know what to do. My teacher's been out for three weeks, so I have no help. The recital is only a couple of weeks after we go back to school, too. So I guess I'll be practicing that all week.
We got a new TV! It's a flatscreen HD, and so beautiful! For years all we've had was our used, "small-screen, low-defs", as my dad called them. We've already watched Lord of the Rings, Up, and Phantom of the Opera, and have noticed the most interesting things that we never did before, like a fly on Gollum's head! It's been awesome.
For Thanksgiving we'll be going to my grandparents' house. I'm really looking forward to it. My Mimi is the best cook there is, and she works so hard to make the Holidays special for all of us. If I know her, and I do, she'll be on her feet cooking and cleaning and looking for fun things for everyone to do until all are happy and sound asleep. She is such a selfless person.
Well, I hope you all have a great week and an enjoyable Thanksgiving with your families. I hope that we can all remember the true reason for the holiday: to thank our God in heaven for all our many blessings. But do enjoy the Turkey Bowl and your big dinner!
I love you all! Love, Laurabug
