I HAD FORGOTTEN ABOUT THE TERRIBLE, VULGAR AND PROFANE LANGUAGE that most of the students use at my school, and it has been difficult to get used to again. When I explained this to two of the missionaries from my ward, one of them shared this story with me:

"When I was in high school, I was on the football team. The players used terrible language. There was one boy on the team, however, who, whenever he got hurt or forgot something etc., we all heard him shout across the field, "FIDDLESTICKS!" At first, everyone laughed at him. But eventually, the whole team started to use silly words like 'fiddlesticks' instead of curse words."

I thought that this story was really funny, and for some reason, I couldn't get it out of my head. I decided to make up my own silly words that I could use to try and set an example at my school.

Well, that didn't work. I'm very limited when it comes to creativity.

Then I remembered Roald Dahl's The BFG. This has been one of my favorite books ever since I first read it when I was nine years old. It's just the cutest book ever. Roald Dahl had an incredible imagination! He made up an incredible vocabulary for the BFG character to use, and they always made me laugh.

So the other night before I went to sleep, I went through the book and listed all of the silly words that I could find. I decided to use them as my "interjections" from now on. I found 55 of them!

I'm going to list them here. Please tell me under "Thoughts" what your favorites are!!! (Mine are "bugswallop" and "frobscottle".)
