MY DADDY HAD HIS 43rd BIRTHDAY ON JANUARY 2nd, 2012. He sure had a big year! On August 12th, 2011, he received his PdD in Urban and Political Affairs. He worked SO HARD on that dissertation. He was hooded a few months later on December 18th. Mommy put together a big surprise for him: By emailing, texting, and calling all of Daddy's friends from church, school, and his childhood, she was able to get everyone to buy/help buy one of the books off of his dream list. She also got all of his co-workers to pitch in and help him pay to print out his dissertation. Then, over ice cream at Braums, he opened all of his gifts. He was very touched, and started crying after opening just the third out of forty books! I am excited to watch him change the world as DR. FARMER. :)
Unfortunately, Daddy's and Randy Jr.'s birthdays are never too exciting as they are immediately after Christmas. Daddy also had the big surprise as mentioned above. So there wasn't much to get him! But we did have a fun little family party, with Daddy's cousin, Jon Farmer, and his wife and baby boy. Mommy made tacos for dinner, and I made a little Texas sheet cake, Daddy's favorite, which we ate with Homemade Vanilla Blue Bell ice cream. I got Daddy just a few little gifts...a little stuffed bull dog (He loves little stuffed pets. He has a schnauzer named "Schnauz," and an owl that he simply calls "Owls," and now his his bulldog has been named "Jowls."), a Dr. Pepper, and his favorite mints. Yan-Yan helped me pick them out. Anyways, he had a nice little birthday. We all love him very much. Happy birthday, Daddy!
